over the years, my love for people has collided with my long-term passion for photography, film and words.

multidisciplinary storytelling, if you will. i've never quite been able to "niche down", as they say you should.

my camera has opened opportunities to meet people across South Africa and the continent that i could never have dreamed of. people fascinate me — what shapes them, what they care about, what makes them laugh, what they've lived through. and what you can find in common with someone wearing completely different shoes.

whilst i've always used my camera and my words, my background is a slightly unusual mix of psychology, english, isiXhosa and journalism, followed by a high school teaching qualification. unrelated? maybe. to me, they feel like different expressions of something that's always been in my heart: using my God-given creativity to build bridges, tell stories and connect with people.

somewhere along the way, i realised they were all teaching me much the same thing: how to pay attention. how to ask better questions. how to listen to what someone is actually saying, seeking to understand rather than be understood.

currently living in cape town and freelancing in photography, film and writing, i seek to uncover stories that reflect hope, dignity and purpose, built on a deep belief that stories have the power to change the way we see the world and one another.

perhaps i'll never quite settle on one medium, one story, or one neat definition of what i do. and i'm increasingly okay with that. in the meantime, i'll be collecting stories, following the threads, and making things that help us see the world — and each other — a little more clearly.
